British Council is The United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We operate in 109 countries around the world and are registered as a charity no: 209131 (England and Wales) SC037733 (Scotland).
In Indonesia, we have
* the latest information about studying in the UK,
* give young leaders unique opportunities to learn more about cultures globally, and
* can connect you to networks and British expertise in English, art and creativity.
We believe that cultural relations – finding ways to appreciate what people from different cultures and societies share and where they differ – can help individuals and the world community to thrive.
We work on programmes in three areas:
1. Intercultural Dialogue and Positive Social Change
We connect young people and professionals to share intercultural understanding and develop approaches to the teaching and learning of English which supports cultural understanding.
2. Promoting UK Creativity and Knowledge Economy
A successful knowledge economy depends on education and skills, governance and regulation, and scientific and creative innovation.
Together with partners we:
* deliver long-term programmes to share the UK’s best practice in;
* facilitate creative links between the UK and Indonesia;
* identify and support global networking for Indonesia’s creative champions, and
* manage development programmes in governance, education, and community development as our commitment to promote education and knowledge in Indonesia.
3. Climate Security
We are responding to the threat presented by Global Warming
We seek to inform, inspire and engage young leaders to become part of the solution through positive behavioural change, influencing communities and making a positive difference to their environment.
Through these three areas, we remain committed to realising the opportunities for Indonesians’ self-development and will continue to do so through our numerous projects in Education, Creative Industries, Social Development, Climate Security as well as English.
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for education and cultural relations. We aim to build mutually beneficial relationships between people in the UK and Indonesia, and to increase appreciation of the UK’s creative ideas and achievements.
